UK Street View by Google

Google launches Street View in the UK. Though the Software has used technology to blur faces and number plates, cent percent results were not achieved. From Aberdeen to Southampton almost 25 cities are covered.Before the UK, street view was launched in the US and some more countries.

Win32.Worm.Downadup is a Computer Virus which is spreading at a faster pace.Computer experts warns about the potential danger it could create on PCs. It seems to be mainly using USBs to infect computers. Please thoroughly check your USB before copying any information.

Vocally Controlled Mouse

Though it is specially designed for disabled people, i strongly feel that it will change the way we use i/p devices today. Adobe's Linux Version of AIR

Adobe announced the availability of AIR 1.5 software for Linux operating systems which enables Web developers to use JavaScript,HTML, ActionScript and Flex framework to deliver applications. It supports Fedora 8,OpenSUSE 10.3 and Ubuntu 7.10

Open-source Office Software

Openoffice is an easy to use office software and a high quality alternative for Ms Office.I feel that more and more software like this should be made available for people to experiment and innovate .The features supported includes Writer which acts like a Word Processor,Calc with more spreadsheet functionality, Impress for preparing presentations, Draw which is a graphics editor and Math for Mathematical calculations.

Browser frm Google!

Bored of existing browsers like IE,Firefox etc... Gud news is that Google
has come up with a new browser, Google Chrome.Itz Beta version is already

Gchrome is an open source browser with lot of gud features like easy
bookmarking, developer tools support, easy downloader etc.........
Though Google claims that Gchrome's gonna add value to the users, we can't
really judge the capabilities of it now, since itz still in infancy stage.

Speech Recognition Software

Thought of writing about speech recognition while i was exploring a windows utility @ home . Though Speech recognition software emerged long back it still didn't reach as many end-users
as expected .First lemme explain what a speech recognition software is, it's generally used for converting voice to text or vice-versa.Like how computers have reduced a lot of paper work
for all of us it helps to reduce the amount of data that we key-in on a daily basis.The software
has to be trained with the voice of the person who uses it.The flip side is it can't recognize the
voice of the person who trained if it sounds very different. I still remember a friend of mine
trained the kit and when she was having a severe cold it failed to recognize her voice.

Blu-Ray disc is a high storage capacity Disc. BD is the common abbreviation used to designate Blu-ray Disc.It's generally used for storing huge data like high-definition video/audio. In practice, 12 cm BD disc comes in 25 GB single-layer (SL) and 50 GB dual-layer (DL) capacities.In future the
capacity of the disc could be extended up to 100/200 GB.I'm sure BD is gonna be the next generation's choice for watching movies!
